Actress (film & TV), Theater Director and playwright from Barcelona

Degree in Dramatic Art – Institut del Teatro de Barcelona.
Resident playwright at the Catalan National Theater from 2006 to 2009.

In 1990, she created her own company, L’unranl’altre (The One between the Other).

She has written more than twenty plays that have received several awards and had been presented in Europe, Latin America and the United States, as well as translated and published in several different languages.

Àngels Aymar has been granted scholarships of the Catalan Government, for research work about Philadelphia’s Wilma Theater Company in 1992; to participate in FIL de Guadalajara-México in 2003; to produce a play at the Dominican Republic in 2004; to create a new play in 2005 Institució de les Lletres Catalanes; and for a UK tour in 2010.

She was the first Spanish playwright who was invited to participate at the Pen World Voices Festival, NYC in 2008.
With the collaboration of the North American Embassy, Italian Culture Institute, O.I.B. of Brussels and the New Dramatist New York, she designed and coordinated the First International Interchange of Writers for the Association of Stage-Creators in 2001-02.
In 2009 she presented La Indiana at the Universidad de las Artes y las Letras de La Habana, Cuba.
Her play Solavaya was presented by The Martin E. Segal Theatre at the Prelude Festival 2010 and at the Repertorio Español Theater in NYC.

Some of her plays: Trueta (about the orthopedic surgeon Josep Trueta Raspall and his technique to treat the injured during the Spanish Civil War and the Second World War), Ritfs , Magnolia Café, Dalirium (about the artist, Salvador Dalí) thress men waiting, Les Phalènes, The unfinished smile
